Deadliest Aircraft Disasters In History

There have been many famous aircraft disasters in the past century. Many has even broken world records:

Advanced Jetliner Crashes

A new jetliner considered by many aviation experts to be the best commercial aircraft crashed on June 26, 1988 in France killing at least three and injuring over 50 people.  There was no passenger list so they couldn’t find out who died and who survived. The aircraft that crashed was an Airbus A320.

Flight 811

The jumbo jet took off for New Zealand and just minutes later a piece of the fuselage ripped off the jumbo jet. As the plane kept flying, 9 people got sucked out of the aircraft. 23 were injured in the horrible moment. Flight 811 went from a routine flight to a flight of terror. The people in the back did not know that nine of the business-class passengers had been sucked out of their seats.

Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines jumbo jet carrying 524 passengers plunged into a mountain in central Japan. Seven survivors were located in the crash. The distance from Haneda airport to Mt. Ogura where the crash site was about 330 miles apart. The 747 crash in Japan puzzles aviation experts in the U.S. This is the worst single aircraft disaster in the world.

Delta Airlines plane

A Delta Airlines plane with 161 people (149 passengers and 12 crew members) left at least 122 people dead. The site of the crash was near the interstate highway in Dallas. The day after the crash a spokesman for Delta airlines announced that 27 survived - 3 flight attendants and 24 passengers. The type of aircraft was a Lockheed L-1011 which is a wide-body aircraft with three engines.

Pan American World Airliners

A head-on collision with two aircraft happened At Tenerife Airport Santa Cruz, Spain on March 28, 1977. A KLM and PAN AM, both 747s crashed head on with 574 dead. All 70 survivors were on Pan American World Airliners.  On the KLM airlines most of the passengers were Dutch vacationers from the Netherlands.
